Interpretation note

Modeled reduction is based on the interval assumptions entered. Actual reduction depends on clinical policy, ordering behavior, and patient mix. Labryva identifies review opportunities and does not determine whether an individual patient order is clinically appropriate.

Help & FAQ

Quick instructions for using Labryva and understanding the major analysis tools.

Getting started

Using Labryva

1

Start with Cost Analysis

Enter the test name, department, monthly volume, reagent costs, consumables, QC, calibration, labor, analyzer, service, overhead, and waste/repeat assumptions.

2

Review the live result

Labryva calculates cost per reportable result, monthly cost, annual cost, cost breakdown, completeness, and optional estimated margin if reimbursement is entered.

3

Save or start a new analysis

Save Analysis stores the current model. New Analysis auto-saves current work when needed, then starts a fresh analysis.

4

Use decision tools

Use Analyzer Comparison, Send-Out vs In-House, and Scenario Compare when evaluating operational or purchasing decisions.

5

Create a report

Open Reports, select a saved analysis, review the summary, then use Print / Save as PDF or export CSV.

Core concepts

What the fields mean

Cost per reportable resultThe estimated total cost to produce one result that can be reported, including direct and allocated costs.
Loaded labor rateThe hourly labor cost used for the analysis. This may include wage plus employer-paid burden if your organization uses a loaded rate.
Reportable tests per kitThe number of patient/reportable tests realistically obtained from a reagent kit, not necessarily the theoretical manufacturer maximum.
Waste / repeat rateAn allowance for repeats, reagent loss, expiration, dead volume, or other routine testing waste. Labryva applies this percentage to reagent, consumable, and labor costs only; fixed allocated costs such as analyzer depreciation, service, QC/calibration allocation, and overhead are not increased.
Analyzer acquisition costThe capital purchase amount used for depreciation allocation across useful life.
Other overheadOptional monthly costs not already captured elsewhere, such as allocated middleware, space, or other operational costs.
Frequently asked questions

FAQ

Does Labryva require patient information?

No. Core Labryva cost analysis is designed to work without patient names, MRNs, dates of birth, accession numbers, test results, or other patient-level information.

What is the difference between Saved Analyses and the Test Library?

Saved Analyses are individual completed or in-progress cost studies. The Test Library is a reusable starting profile so you do not have to re-enter the same test setup every time.

What happens when I click New Analysis?

If your current Cost Analysis contains unsaved work, Labryva auto-saves it. The form then resets and starts a new analysis with a new record identity.

When does Save Analysis overwrite something?

If you opened a saved analysis, the screen shows that you are editing a saved analysis and Save updates that specific record. A new analysis creates a separate saved record.

What does Cost Completeness mean?

It checks whether major cost categories such as reagents, consumables, QC, calibration, labor, analyzer depreciation, service, and waste are represented. It does not guarantee that the assumptions are correct.

How should I use Analyzer Comparison?

Enter comparable cost assumptions for both options, especially the same annual test volume. Labryva compares cost per test, annual modeled cost, and five-year modeled cost difference.

How should I use Send-Out vs In-House?

Enter current send-out price and logistics costs, then estimated in-house reagent, labor, QC, equipment, service, and waste costs. Labryva estimates annual cost difference and payback when applicable.

Are Labryva calculations financial or accounting advice?

No. Labryva is a decision-support tool based on user-entered assumptions. Users should validate inputs, contracts, reimbursement assumptions, accounting treatment, and organizational policies before making purchasing or operational decisions.

Where is my data stored?

In the current version, working analyses and saved profiles are stored locally in the browser. Anonymous product analytics track usage events but are not intended to transmit the financial values entered into analyses.

Can I save a Labryva report as a PDF?

Yes. In Reports, choose Print / Save as PDF and select your browser or operating system's PDF printer/save option.
